FOR ASSISTANCE TO REGISTER OR TO BID PLEASE PHONE/WHATSAPP MARLISE AT +27 65 716 4689
We highly recommend that you DO NOT wait until the last minute to register to bid. The registration process can take several minutes. If you enter as a new bidder your account is put into a pending status and you have to be manually approved. If you attempt to register and place a bid within 5 minutes of the closing of an item you may lose out on the chance to bid. We recommend that you register at least 24 hours prior to the Auction start time. While you may wait to place your bid at a later time, by registering in advance, you can feel rest assured that we have time to approve the new account and that will give you time to make sure that you understand the bidding application. Deposit payable for first time buyers, subject to auctioneers request.
PLEASE NOTE THAT A 1 % INTERNET SURCHARGE + VAT IS PAYABLE ON ALL ONLINE SALES

CDP STANCE: BOTSWANA’S BAN ON IMPORTS FROM SA
KZN FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE OUTBREAK
Due to the foot and mouth outbreak in South Africa, Botswana put a ban on the importation of animals. Unfortunately, nobody is in a situation to speculate on how long this ban will last, it can only take a few weeks if South Africa can confirm that they have situation under control, however we will have to wait and see what the outcome would be within the next few weeks.
We as CDP Auctioneers cannot take the risk of selling animals to cross border customers without implementing the following requirements.
The following will be applicable to cross border buyers.
- A proforma invoice must be requested for the amount the clients are willing to spend and must be paid in full before the specific auction and must reflect in CDP’s account before the animals will be released.
- VAT will be payable on the amount.
- Potential buyers must notify us in writing of their plans to transport and quarantine the animals after the sale. It is important to note that the buyers can contact the specific sellers for save keeping of the animals for a specified period. This negotiation however is between the seller and the buyer.
- With the fall of the hammer the responsibility and care of the animals will not remain with CDP but that of the buyer.
Our reason for these drastic actions is as follows:
Unfortunately, the clients will have to pay vat as CDP will not be able to take the risk in cases where the animals are not exported within 90 days as the Auctioneering house will become eligible to pay the vat over within the said period.
CDP unfortunately cannot take the risk as nobody are aware on how long the current situation will last.
Although we will do anything possible to assist our clients, until the Foot and Mouth disease are not under control, we will have to stand strong on the requirements listed above.
Hope you will understand the situation we are in.
Kind Regards
Corne du Plessis
